MX Air, computer wireless mouse; giant leap to next generation

in Gadgets

computer-wireless-mouseLogitech is a global leader in computer accessories and it had recently launched its first ever-gyroscopic MX Air mouse. This wireless beauty can be recharged and completely take the control, by a simple movement in air and that too in a very first second (as soon as power is turned on).
It’s styling is unbeatable and you will be thrilled to use it, although it may take some time for you to get in sync with the concept of wire free desk and high level of sensitivity (which may frustrate you in beginning but with usage it will only add comfort and convenience).
It provides great comfort when used with Media Center, with it MX Air transforms from a mere computer accessory to a high-tech fully functional remote control.

Specs: Microsoft Windows XP, USB interface; External form factor and 3-year warranty.
Technical accuracy of MX Air is due to inclusion of additional sensors that allow the mouse to move in any direction, no matter what is the current orientation of the gadget…

Business; target market

With MX Air, Logitech clearly aims at the home theater market. This remote cum mouse includes Play and pause button that works in most media-playing apps, and a volume button along with left & right mouse button and a touch-sensitive scroll panel which replaces traditional scroll wheel, this is not all gadget includes driver software that lets you reprogram the buttons.

You only speak positive, what’s on the “negative” side?

An underside trigger, rather common on gyration line (used to freeze the cursor while the mouse is in the air, it provides much more precise movement and added accuracy) goes missing, as a counter, MX Air offers the option of an oversize cursor while the mouse is in the air, making it easier to see and control.

… and what about battery?

MX Air runs on a small, built-in rechargeable battery and when not in use it can be mounted over a charging dock, which uses a tiny RF receiver and a USB memory key which can be plugged into USB port of the computer.

Overall this is a great product adding slightly more convenience to the life and subtracting the discomfort of arm pain caused by repetitive motion over other mouse. Although at quoted price of $149, it’s not the cheapest mouse and not even cheapest gyroscopic mouse in the market, but than it is also loaded with great features…

…so what do you think about it?
